If I’m being honest…
When I walk into a gathering, the first thing I do is peruse what food is out and available to graze. If there’s a charcuterie board sitting out, I am thrilled. And that is exactly where you’ll find me, by the cheese and meats! I just love the variety of flavors, textures and colors. The savory, salty, sweet mix of a charcuterie board is the perfect appetizer/hors d’oeuvres! I think it’s a great choice to please many guests when you have a well thought out board that has a variety of ingredients. And, as a guest, it’s a nice appetizer because it doesn’t leave you feeling overly full before the main meal.

Assembling the Board
Carve out 30 minutes of so, if you’re able, to assemble your board. It’s more enjoyable when you’re not rushed and given time to be creative. I find it quite therapeutic to layer everything slowly to form a beautiful array of textures and colors. Start with the biggest items first and work your way down to the smaller accent items. You can always put more crackers, dips, etc. on the side if you run out of room on your board like I often do!

Recipe Tips
Sourcing: I like to source charcuterie board ingredients from Trader Joe’s or smaller specialty stores to find unique and seasonal flavors! Trader Joe’s has the best prices on cheeses and meats if you’re wanting to get the best bang for your buck.
