Quick Homemade Tzatziki Sauce

This Quick Homemade Tzatziki Sauce is cool, refreshing and full of bright & tangy flavor. The perfect accompaniment to meat, seafood or any type of Mediterranean-style meal. Also, a real treat when paired with homemade naan or lavash for dipping!

- 1 cup plain whole-milk yogurt
- 1/2 cup cucumber finely diced or grated
- 1 garlic clove minced
- 2 tbsp lemon juice freshly squeezed
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt
- cracked black pepper to taste
First, combine the minced garlic and lemon juice in a medium-sized bowl. While that mixture rests, finely dice or grate the cucumber. Drain excess water from cucumber by wringing out with some paper towels.
Add the cucumber, yogurt, salt & pepper to the bowl. Mix. Adjust salt and pepper to taste. Chill in the fridge until ready to to serve.
- If you love fresh garlic, use 2 cloves for this recipe.
- Persian cucumbers work best in this recipe as they are less watery.
- You can drain the excess water from the cucumber with paper-towels or cheese cloth.
- This Homemade Tzatziki Sauce will keep in the fridge for 2-3 days.
