A few scenes from our simple Thanksgiving at home, A few scenes from our simple Thanksgiving at home, it was calm and sweet 🕯️✨🥹

We made several traditional dishes this year along with a few new ones. We made a fall seasonal favorite of ours too, wild turkey schnitzel! So good. I’ll have to share that family recipe here soon.

We also broke in our wood burning fireplace for the first time this Thanksgiving. This is our first fall and winter season in this home and the nightly, fireside sits feel like a story book setting 🕯️✨

If you need me, I’ll be by the fire with a buttered roll in hand.
If you can boil water, you can make bone broth. If you can boil water, you can make bone broth.

I used leftover turkey bones from our Thanksgiving turkey for this batch. I plan to make beef bone broth next week if you want to pick up some beef bones next time you’re at the butcher/store, it’s the same process!

Stick the bones in a big pot. Cover with water, add onions, carrots, garlic and some fresh herbs. Bring to a boil, then let simmer on low for 6 to 24 hours.

Packed with anywhere from 15 to 20 grams of protein per cup, bone broth is one of the most nutrient-dense foods you can start incorporating into your cooking. Whether you’re making soups, sauces, or looking to boost your intake of protein, it’s the perfect thing to grab thats flavorful and nourishing. Made from whole foods and nutrient rich bones, this is a simple powerhouse food that’s easy to make and store.

Bone broth simmers for a much longer time than regular broth or stock, and has a higher ratio of meat and bones to liquid, producing a richer, more flavorful liquid. Bone broth is like liquid gold: rich in protein, collagen, vitamins, minerals, and electrolytes.

Full recipe is on saltedseasons.com but you really can’t mess this one up. Just go low and slow!!!
We have been fighting over these Pumpkin Streusel We have been fighting over these Pumpkin Streusel Muffins 🤣

My husband loooves pumpkin everything, especially pumpkin chocolate chip. I like pumpkin, but I feel like it’s overly done and overly intense much of the time. I was trying to come up with a muffin recipe we all loved that had that warm fall flavor to it with a little som som on the top.

These do the trick! For all my non-sourdough peeps, this recipe has the option of using yogurt (or sourdough discard) for extra flavor and moist deliciousness!

I hope you enjoy these!! Let me know if you try them 🤍

Full recipe on saltedseasons.com. I’ll save it under the fall recipe highlight 🍂
